The Hawa Mahal stands as a majestic palace situated in Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan, India. Erected in 1799, this opulent structure was commissioned by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh and is located at Rajasthan Jaipur Badi Chaupar. The exterior of the Hawa Mahal resembles a captivating beehive. It is adorned with an impressive array of 953 intricate lattice windows, known as jharokhas.

Best Time to Visit Hawa Mahal

You can come to visit Jaipur in the winter season.

The period between the start of November and the middle of February marks the peak tourist season for visiting the Hawa Mahal. With the pleasant weather, you will be able to visit not one but many ancient buildings here comfortably. The timings to visit Hawa Mahal are from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.

However, the best time to visit this building is in the morning when the golden rays of the sun fall on this royal building. This view gives the Hawa Mahal an even more elegant and grand look. Hawa Mahal Museum remains closed on Fridays, so it is better to visit Hawa Mahal on other days.

Hawa Mahal ticket price

The entry fee for Hawa Mahal is INR 50 for Indians and INR 200 for foreigners. Here you can also buy a composite ticket, which will be valid for two days. They have kept the cost of this ticket at Rs 300 for Indians and Rs 1000 for foreigners. With the help of this composite ticket, you can visit Hawa Mahal and its surrounding places of interest for two days.

If you want to carry a camera to click pictures inside the Hawa Mahal then you will have to pay a separate charge of Rs 10 apart from the entry fee which is Rs 30 for foreigners. You can find local guides who provide comprehensive information about Hawa Mahal, but it is important to arrange the fee with them in advance. Hawa Mahal does not have stairs, and access to the upper floors is a climb, so wear comfortable footwear.

The walls here are very small, so be careful and follow all the rules.
